Soitec continues its outreach as a key player in semiconductors

I am consulting and handling the communication of Soitec, designer and manufacturer of semiconductor substrates, on which chips are graved. The French firm continues its media outreach to tell its incredible success and growth story. The interview that Paul Boudre, CEO of Soitec gave in July to the French business channel BFM was part of that ongoing program. Soitec tables on tripling its revenue and doubling its production in the next five years. Its products are in all smartphones of the world and empower the energy efficiency, performance and sustainability of 5G, automotive, cloud edge and artificial intelligence systems. No 5G without Soitec, no car or microelectronics without semiconductors, no innovation with cutting-edge technologies in the development of substrates. Read more here: www.soitec.com

Luxembourg´s Télécran reports on the Asteroid Day

The Luxembourgish magazine Télécran interviewed me in my role as Chair of the Asteroid Foundation to explain and portray the idea and mission of the Asteroid Day: to raise the global awareness of the chances and risks of asteroids for humankind and educate global communities about the importance of space for our survival and a brighter future. This year's Asteroid Day (always on the 30 June in the UN calendar) connected hundreds of events around the world, more than 40 experts recorded over just one month, five hours of content, all fully produced from Luxembourg. Asteroid Day LIVE featured a broad range of asteroid researchers: from citizen scientists to top-tier managers at NASA, ESA, LSA and JAXA. Invaluable original content was provided by our partners at the Association of Space Explorers, The Planetary Society, University of Luxembourg SnT, JAXA and ESA. Oxygen on Mars, the maiden flight of Ingenuity and other breaking news every day

When NASA's Perseverance rover was able to extract oxygen from the Red Planet’s thin, carbon dioxide-rich atmosphere, the U.S. space agency and its partners made another historical breakthrough in April 2021. Experts agreed that this could pave the way "for science fiction to become science fact", help power rockets that could lift astronauts off the planet’s surface and provide breathable air, one day, for astronauts on Mars. NASA had just performed the first flight of a mini-helicopter called Ingenuity on the Red Planet. SpaceWatch.Global - where I am Editor-in-Chief and co-owner - reports every day on exciting achievements in space technology, the new space economy and the international space ecosystem. Follow the news and become a SpaceWatcher on: www.spacewatch.global.

The Mobile World Congress in Shanghai: a Booth and Boost for Soitec

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai end of February 2021 was one of the first industrial shows that took place in the real world again and gave Soitec the opportunity to showcase its products and explain the crucial role that the manufacturer of semiconductor materials plays in the telecommunications sector worldwide. There is practically no smartphone today that does not rely on the technology and the semiconductor substrates that Soitec develops and successfully innovates. The Chinese market is key for the semiconductor industry. Soitec engaged for the first time with a proper booth and a message to customers and the ecosystem: There is no 5G without Soitec. See more on MWC: www.mwcshanghai.com

Semiconductors are key to the digital revolution

Soitec designs and manufacturers semiconductor materials. These substrates are the base for the chips that power all our electronic devices, connectivity, cloud and edge computing systems. 5G, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence; smartphones, earbuds, drones, and cars; e-health, e-education, and autonomous driving: the digital revolution that changes the face of our world is based on these innovative substrates, constantly boosting the performance and energy efficiency of our chips and microelectronics. Soitec has a success story to tell, recognized by customers, investors and media throughout the world. The French magazine Challenges, for example, told it. "Next Gen ESA: What’s the vision?"

When ESA’s Director General Jan Woerner started his last 12 months at the helm of the European Space Agency (ESA) end of June 2020, he wrote a blog that witnessed a certain impatience and urgency about the future and direction of the organization. SpaceWatch.Global launched a discussion on its platform about the future of the agency, its challenges, changes, and objectives: "Next gen ESA: what's the vision?"

Overwhelming success for astronaut platform SpaceConnectsUs

Overwhelming success for the SpaceConnectsUs platform and our virtual townhall meetings that Asteroid Day and European Space Agency (ESA) launched last week. It took us less than one week from the idea to the realization of several online sessions with hundreds and hundreds of thousands of visitors - a record time and a stunning success. The good advice and encouragement from astronauts in the challenging times of Coronavirus isolation was all over the media, for example in Germany (like in tabloid BILD, see photo above). If you want to watch the sessions again, connect here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BE0N5bnM4g

ESA and Asteroid Day Launch SpaceConnectsUs

Who else would know better how to live in confinement and isolation than astronauts? This was the basic idea behind #spaceconnectsus, a virtual platform and global town hall meeting with astronauts, scientists and celebrities to talk to us about life in the Covid-19 crisis. Millions of people connected on 26 March 2020 to the platform we launched together with the European Space Agency (ESA). An overwhelming success. More: www.spaceconnects.us
